Kick off your holiday with us! Each year, San Rafael
unofficially celebrates the beginning of the holiday season with its annual
Lighted Boat Parade in the San Rafael Canal. Boaters throughout Marin County
take great care in preparing their vessels for what is now one of the largest
lighted boat parades in the nation. Unique lighting schemes and creative holiday
themes reflect the labor and talent of Marin’s maritime community and their
devotion to bringing holiday cheer to the hundreds of residents who line the
canal parade route.
The parade for 2009 is scheduled for Thursday, December
10th at 6pm. Find your favorite viewing location along the canal
and enjoy the festiviities on the water. Contact SRYC for more information.
San Rafael Yacht Club, founded in 1938, is
a member of Pacific Inter-Club Yacht
Association, a family of Yacht Clubs first organized in 1896. Our
4,000 square foot clubhouse is located at the West end of San Rafael
Canal in a protected harbor offering visiting boaters over 300 feet of
dock space. The warm and friendly cocktail lounge overlooks the harbor
and is adjacent to our large deck, dining and dancing areas that
accommodate well over 150 people. The purpose of
San Rafael Yacht Club is to participate in the various activities
sponsored by yachting and boating organizations of the Bay Area, to
promote proper and safe boating, and to provide a comfortable atmosphere
of camaraderie among it's members.
We welcome you by boat or car.
